History of Rapides General Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union
In September 1952, a few concerned employees of the Baptist Hospital saw the need for a way to provide much needed financial services to their fellow workers. The credit union opened with 8 charter members as Baptist Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union. In March 1971, the name was changed to Rapides General Hospital Employees Federal Credit Union.
Today the credit union is governed by a five member Board of Directors and a Supervisory Committee. The mission of the Credit Union remains the same: “Provide Friendly, Competitive Financial Services to our Members”. There are currently 4 employees serving the needs of the membership.
Our hours of operation are 8:30AM – 4:00 PM Monday – Friday. To better serve our members, the Credit Union normally operates on the same holiday schedule as the support staff of the Medical Center instead of the expanded holiday schedule of most banks and other credit unions.
